These terms apply to the SparePlate iOS app ("the app"), a product of Soren Technologies LLC ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
SparePlate is a digital bulletin board that lets people in the same building tell each other about leftover food that is free for the taking. SparePlate does not prepare, handle, inspect, store, sell, or deliver any food, and has no way to verify anything posted by users.
All food described in the app is offered by other users, not by SparePlate. If you choose to take and consume shared food, you do so entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for judging whether food is safe for you, including checking for allergens, dietary restrictions, spoilage, and proper handling. SparePlate makes no promises about the safety, quality, freshness, or accuracy of any post.
Selling or attempting to sell anything through the app is misuse. The app contains no payment features, and any transaction arranged through it is outside these terms and entirely between the users involved.
Users can report posts from within the app. We may remove any content and restrict any user's access at our discretion, including for violations of these terms, and may cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us permission to store and display your content to other users of the app so the service can function. Posts are visible to everyone on the same board and expire from the feed automatically.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or that it will be error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Soren Technologies LLC and its members are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app or from food or interactions exchanged between users — including but not limited to illness, allergic reaction, personal injury, or property damage. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the app (the app is free).
The app is intended for adults. Do not use it if you are under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
